Authorpreneurs 7 Tips to Journal The Journey-Tell Your Story gain Brand Visibility’ by Lá Tanyha Boyd

RYB ACADEMY GRAPHICS (22)I’m on the road often and what better way to Tell My Story and communicate with my community then through social media journaling/sharing my travel experiences with my community-

It was while on my cruise vacation in the Bahamas that gave me an idea for my next book. I find that it’s helpful to come from behind the desk regroup-release- refresh – and site see –  Let’s do this exercise together breathe in, breathe out smile and enjoy the view.

Take a walk in the park- during the winter months build a snowman- go to the beach- site see in different cities – countries- learn about other cultures-experience different foods on your palate – Get those creative juices flowing for your next NOVEL.

You’ll also hear me say this often “In order to gain Brand Visibility you have to make some VIRTUAL NOISE”

Here are some suggestions in increasing your Author Brand Platform and Increase Content Building:

1) Live Streaming- Is a game changer in building your author brand and voice
2) Still Photos- People do eat with their eyes – pictures tell a story
3) Mini On the Spot Mini Interviews – Adding content- audience engagement
4) Graphics that POP – A picture is worth a thousand words
5) Audio Live Streaming — Lending to your author brand voice

Authorpreneurs 3 Tips Monetize Social Media Engagement by Lá Tanyha Boyd

RYB ACADEMY GRAPHICS (38)

What is Social Media Engagement?

Definition: Social media engagement measures the public shares, likes and comments for an online business’ social media efforts. … But return on investment for social media marketing efforts is difficult, and engagement is a blanket metric that doesn’t describe how many users end up purchasing. -Big Commerce

Measuring engagement-

According to Big Commerce-The three most popular social media sites today are FacebookInstagram and Twitter. Each platform has its own mechanisms for users to express appreciation for individual posts and posters, which are measured differently across each platform:

Twitter: Re-tweets and followers

Facebook: Shares, likes and followers

Instagram: Likes and followers

While shares and likes tell you about the popularity of a given post, follows indicate a higher level of investment, meaning users want to see more of your content on a regular basis. Follows are therefore a type of conversion, similar to getting a visitor to sign up for an e-mail list.

Posts can be shared for many reasons, however, not all of them good. Social media engagement is only as positive as the reputation it generates: going viral over a poorly thought-out tweet can cause a tsunami of bad publicity that proves to be unshakeable.

Monetize Author Social Engagement

1) Schedule social media: Decide when and what you will share on your social media platforms . Optimize your profile on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Goodreads and Pinterest. Select the most effective time for reaching the most people with Buffer, Sprout Social, Plan Planner.

2) Get a professional and distinctive author photo: Use this image across all your social media profiles, on your site, at the end of your book (along with your author bio) and on your print materials.

3) Tell your author brand story: Write an author biography that succinctly defines your reason for being; keep it to two or three short but memorable paragraphs that will resonate with your readers. Show some personality (Author Swag) and give your readers a reason to connect. For more information insights on how to Monetize Social Media Engagement and Rock Your Book Audio is now available

Authorpreneurs 5 Rock Your Book Top Marketing Tips for Profits by Lá Tanyha Boyd

LTB BOYD HS SLV COATWhen it comes to promoting and marketing of your book, and–if done right–will make the rest of the process infinitely easier.

Once you’ve figured out how you’re going to connect to your community, then start getting the word out.  There are five schools of thought on this activity.  One is to create buzz on these social media streets and send out a reasonable number of tweets, Facebook postings, LinkedIn updates, and whatever else you can stand to do. Start with three times per day by switching up the graphics and valuable content while keeping your maximum posting frequency to 15 times per week-  I found this to be very helpful in building my author Brand and increase in traffic/social engagement.

Author’s in order to gain brand VISIBILITY you have to make some VIRTUAL NOISE- With that said it’s time to BRAND-UP! Here are 6 Marketing tips to jump-start your Author Brand on these social media streets. Have at it!!!

RYB ACADEMY 5 book marketing tips

You can actually promote your book at least 6 months before release date. Offer pre-sale/orders on website. As an author, it’s important to invest time and energy into building your platform: establish relationships, and gain potential readers. An author platform is the thing you have to stand on to get heard and to be seen. It’s your stage! Rock Your Book like a Rock Star Unlike a stage at a concert hall, today’s platform is built of people, contacts, connections, followers, influencer(s) and supporters.

1) Make a video/Book Trailer and upload it on YouTube and upload directly to your Facebook with a Link to your web page. People Eat with Their Eyes and a book trailer (video) captivates people and draws them in. Having a Video Book Trailer for your book will provide you with opportunities to connect with your audience and sell more books! Book Trailers are a great marketing tool and are quickly gaining popularity among publishers and successful authors to help promote books and encourage people to read them.

2) Create a webpage of your book. Include a BUY now button. Set up a merchant account, your Paypal OR Google Checkout to help you with the transaction.

3) Ask for quotes from people who will influence your readers. Put those quotes on the back cover of your book and on your webpage and include in your book trailer.

4) Live Streaming Do Try Out Live-Streaming! Live-streaming is booming. It’s a way to engage with your audience and understand their reactions in real time. It also gives you the opportunity to humanize your social media platforms – putting a face to your brand. Some ways to utilize live-streaming could be a Q&A, sharing snippets of a major event or sharing behind the scenes moments of your brand to the audience

5) Build Your Email Be sure to add an email signup form to your website (which should be displayed on every single page) Building an email subscriber list is one of the best ways to ensure the long term success of your business. It is the most direct and cost effective way to communicate and engage with your fans and subscribers on a personal level. The bigger your list, the bigger your online marketing asset–and the more interested publishers are.

Working Mom to Blogger…Mom’s Cafe Blog

authorpic.jpgWorking Mom to Blogger…Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am a 25 year old, working, single mother to an extremely smart and beautiful little girl. I am a writer and content creator who has newly entered entrepreneurship and am extremely excited about it! I am in the in the process of building my business and brand, first through Mom’s Cafe Blog, which readers may recognize me as XoBri LeeXo… or simply Bri.

How did you come up with idea for Mom’s Cafe Blog?

Wow. Um, there are a number of factors that sparked Mom’s Cafe Blog, I am not even sure where to begin telling the story. Of course, my daughter is my ultimate inspiration in all of this…

Motherhood has been around since the beginning of time. I am definitely not the first or the only one to experience it’s trying moments and hurdles. In this, I felt the push to share. Share not only in the form of an outlet, but I really felt it on my heart to share for someone else who may be experiencing the same things as I have. Or to even learn from other mothers who have experienced far more than myself.

When you become a mother…especially for the first time, you are basically feeling your way through this thing. There is no handbook to motherhood, BUT if you are in an environment, where you can freely and safely ask the questions, or learn some ‘tricks of the trade’ if you will, from someone else, it can ease the journey.

I wanted to build that into a community where myself and moms alike, can do that and also high five each other for our success’ and jumping over those same hurdles.

Since beginning your blogging journey, what would you say was the biggest challenge thus far?

Honestly, the biggest challenge since blogging was actually starting the blog. Not in the sense of anything technical…but in the sense of actually pushing myself and stepping out on faith for this new project.

I am very excited and optimistic about this new journey I am in! The rest of it’s “challenges” I am immensely enjoying. The opportunity to learn and grow everyday is something that I am grateful for.

On the ‘one-month-a-versary’ of Mom’s Cafe Blog, I am so honored and happy to announce that Mom’s Cafe Blog has been nominated for the 2017 Liebster Award!!!! Read our acceptance blog post!!!

In January 2018 We are happy to announce we have been nominated for Sunshine Blogger Award.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your blog?

I would like my readers to walk away feeling empowered and encouraged. I would like my readers to feel that they are not alone. Whether we admit it or not, sometimes us mommas can feel pretty isolated. I would like my readers to know, hey, sometimes we’re going to want to have an adult conversation and lose the baby talk for a good 5 minutes and discuss the adult issues together and that’s OKAY.

I want my readers to learn and teach, from…which brand of detergent gets stains out the best, to overcoming post par-tum depression or finding our identities again. I would like my readers to find assistance on both spectrum’s of the scale.

One of our most popular blog post is titled ‘Explaining Finances to Your Child,’

I’m also excited to announce Mom’s Cafe Blog latest news!! We are truly humbled and honored to announce that I (XoBriLeeXo) will be featured as an contributing writer for the first ever issue of iWorship96 Radio’s magazine!

What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to their reader?

I believe the best service a blogger can provide to their reader, is honesty and transparency. Also, self reflection. If you are blogging to help others, constantly reminding yourself of your wonderful intentions and asking how has this helped someone today?

How true…A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words? by Lá Tanyha Boyd

Rock Your Brand CEO PRESENTATION (13)

“A picture is worth a thousand words” is an English language-idiom. It refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image or that an image of a subject conveys its meaning or essence more effectively than a description does. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here is My Biz Lesson Learned Early in Establishing my Author Brand Voice!

Often times people surf the internet and once they do that Virtual Drive By… it’s important that my Brand Image POPS- photos attract 104% more comments than standard, text-based posts.

When was the last time you updated your social media photo’s?

People eat and judge with their eyes- And Design is a very important factor in the business world. Consumers will judge a business based on its looks.

Totally understand having a shoestring budget and sure their are some great smartphones that have great camera features that take awesome selfies, but the ones in the bathroom with the roll of toilet paper in the back ground or the rubber ducky shower curtain serving as your back drop- is not what people would call a great professional author brand look.

When it comes down to visual branding…

I found by Keeping my Avatar photos/ Social media Billboard(s) fresh and relevant to my target audience to be effective and would update and change two to perhaps three x’s a month.

My Billboard I would often use Canva to create and incorporate my brand colors.

5 Tips for Producing a great head shot on a shoestring budget:

1. Use Good Light when photographing with your IPad or Cell Phone
2. Ask a friend for help. This is not the time for selfies.
3. Be mindful of distracting wardrobe, revealing neckline and fly away hairs.
4. Practice in the mirror
5. Use colors that compliment you

#RocKYourBookAcademy Introduces New Release ‘What’s Under Your Rug Finding More of the Inner You,’ by Bestselling Author Esther Renee Wright

ABOUT THE AUTHOR 26058002_548135305525377_998893637_n

ESTHER RENEE’ WRIGHT, a minister, philanthropist, teacher of the gospel and a licensed chemical dependency counselor, who holds a Masters degree in Psychology and has been blessed to utilize her gifts serving adults and adolescents with mental illness and substance abuse. She is the founder of Titus Works Ministries and has been blessed to counsel, motivate, inspire, and encourage others that they can be a living testimony. Esther has written her 3rd book entitled: What’s Under Your Rug?: Finding More of the Inner You.

Esther, tell us about your book?

YOU ARE NOT NORMAL. . . by the world’s standard!!!

I received a message one day from a friend and it stated:  Let whatever you do today be enough. Let go of the judgement you have about what you should be or could be doing, and today, allow yourself to simply be. Quiet the voice telling you to do more and be more, and trust that in this moment, who you are, where you are at, and what you are doing is enough. You will get to where you need to be in your own time. Until then, breathe. Breathe and be patient with yourself and your process. You are doing the best you can to cope and survive amid your struggles, and that’s all you can ask of yourself. It’s enough. You are enough.

This book answers the questions we often ask ourselves, a question I have asked myself to consider is, “What have you done in the last two weeks for your Mind, Body and Spirit, and was it worth the time you spent doing it?”

As I reflected on the question, I became so full!!! I literary could not contain the joy I felt, looking back just two weeks. Then two more weeks. . . the tears could not stop coming!!! This is what this book is about!!! Finding the joy within!!!

NEVER DISCOUNT WHERE YOU ARE!!! God knows why you are there . . . you must TRUST HIM!!! Walk by faith no matter what it feels like, no matter what it looks like, and more importantly no matter how long it seems like it has been.

So, I ask you “What have you done in the last two weeks for your Mind, Body and Spirit, and was it worth the time you spent doing it?” I pray that reading this book will allow you to spend your valuable time BE-ING and BE-COMING!!!

I DID NOT SEE THIS JOY COMING!!! OH MY GODTHANK YOU . . . . HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH!!!

Modeling Goodness NO MATTER WHAT!!!

How did you come up with idea for this book?

I began writing this book when I started the journey through my divorce. As I was experiencing what I went through in this event, I asked myself the question, “Would I marry me?“ Which was going to be the title initially. Then God began to reveal to me things He wanted me to write about.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?

It really was not difficult, it was as if the Holy Spirit was leading me through each chapter.

Why do you write?

I write because God tells me to. For real I have only written what I believe what God has given me to write. I have never sat down and said, “Well I think it is time to write another book” I am truly lead and I pray God continues to lead me in this way.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?

To embrace who you are, when the Bible says in John 8:32, “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” I truly believe Jesus was talking about knowing your own personal truth, not just speaking the truth to others, but embracing who we are in Christ Jesus. Which, we can find by living God’s Word. I would say, EMBRACE WHO GOD HAS CREATED YOU TO BE!!! Stop running from you because you are truly missing the real beauty of what’s inside you.

Who are your favorite authors?

I love reading Iyanla Vanzant, I feel so encouraged by her words.

What book(s) are you reading now?

Right now I am not reading any books, I have been in such a dark place for the last 4 years, and now that I am out in the light, I am basking in the beauty of who have grown to be at this moment. The focus is truly on me and the newness of my life.

What books have most influenced your life?

This may really sound a little arrogant and I don’t mean it to be. But I have been influenced by my own books. They speak life and that is what I am all about. Thriving not just surviving!!! Living above the issues. . .

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

I would love the opportunity to be mentored by Iyanla Vanzant, OMG that would be so amazing!!!

Any advice to give to aspiring writers?

Allow God to use you and write books to touch the heart not to sell books, if you do that then you will sell books.

ABOUT THE BOOK whats under your rug finding more of the inner you

As I contemplated what direction God has inspired me to go with this book, I want you, the reader to know it is my desire that we be empowered to build better relationships. But that must start with ourselves. It is time to pull the covers off and take a real look at who, what and where we are. Not just in the physical being but emotionally and spiritually as well. What does God say about us?

5 STAR AMAZON REVIEW: ‘Awesome book! I am reading it for the second time. It’s one of those books that you want to keep, so you can go back to the chapters that meet you right where you are. This book is truly a blessing to me.’

#RocKYourBookAcademy Introduces New Bestseller ’31 Tips to Healthy Hair: Achieve and Maintain Beautiful and Manageable Hair,’ by Tishawna D. Pritchett

ABOUT THE AUTHOR IMG_5923_pp

TISHAWNA D. PRITCHETT is a Licensed Cosmetologist and VA Board Certified Cosmetology Instructor, specializing in preventative care and hair restoration for women. She is the owner of Shawn’s Hair N More, Hair Restoration Studio and Styling Salon in Henrico, VA. Her work can be seen in Essence Magazine Hot Hair Edition, Black Beauty Hairstyling Magazine, Extreme Hairstyle Magazine, Jet, and Sophisticate’s Black Hair Magazine where she is a featured stylist giving expert advice for their annual Trend Report. Tishawna has been featured on Channel 8 news as an expert on haircare and has trained with the best in the industry traveling across the US to get the best of the best including advance technical training and Trichology, the science of hair and scalp.

Author Tishawna is also the founder of a non profit resource and support center for women. She has a passion for motivating, empowering, and equipping women to Pursue Purpose with Passion. She teaches women to define their purpose and use their passion to pursue it with beauty, grace, knowledge, and confidence.

Tishawna, tell us about your book?

31 Tips to Healthy Hair is a self help guide to achieving and maintaining healthy and beautiful hair. There are 31 haircare tips to include inspiration and self care practices for women.

How did you come up with the idea for this book?

As a hairstylist, I see many women who spend money consistently on hair services and products but still miss the basic care that the hair needs in order to be healthy and manageable. Originally, I was giving away tips on social media, though pamphlets, and free downloads on my website. After a few conversations I was encouraged to write the book.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?

One of the most difficult aspects of writing this book was getting past the fear of not knowing. I’m an introverted hairstylist who had no interest in writing to sell. I read but never viewed myself in being on the other side. It’s still scary and very weird when I hear author by my name.

Why do you write?

I write consistently in my journals but recently started writing books. I write because its freeing. It allows me to unload and remove clutter which also helps in gaining understanding.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?

I want readers to learn that work and patience are requirements in everything worth having. Although in this case we’re talking hair but even with hair once you follow directions and add patience you will have healthy, beautiful, and manageable hair.

Who are your favorite authors?

I had not been a consistent reader until about 2 or 3 years ago. I have enjoyed many personal and spiritual growth books to include John C Maxwell books, Joyce Meyer books, and books by TD Jakes.

What book(s) are you reading now?

I just finished Called to Create: A Biblical Invitation to Create, Innovate, and Risk by Jordan Raynor and reading now The 15 Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell, and Soar by TDJakes.

What books have most influenced your life?

Books that have most influenced my life is What On Earth Am I Here For by Rick Warren is a major one. At a time in my life when I experienced low self esteem, emotional exhaustion, was unsure of myself and didn’t know enough to encourage myself, I read and studied this book with two friends. Out of it gave me great insight and helped me to see me and work on me more than ever.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

If I had to choose a writer as my mentor it would be TDJakes and/or Joyce Meyer. They both bring great insight without a lot of digging for truth . They both are great examples of work and patience brings results.

Any advice to give to aspiring writers?

Advice I would give aspiring writers is to take your time. Don’t write just because but write with a meaning and knowing that someone will be blessed through every page. Rushing takes the focus off of helping someone else to helping yourself. Take your time and enjoy every word written.
