Esther, tell us about your book?
YOU ARE NOT NORMAL. . . by the world’s standard!!!
I received a message one day from a friend and it stated: Let whatever you do today be enough. Let go of the judgement you have about what you should be or could be doing, and today, allow yourself to simply be. Quiet the voice telling you to do more and be more, and trust that in this moment, who you are, where you are at, and what you are doing is enough. You will get to where you need to be in your own time. Until then, breathe. Breathe and be patient with yourself and your process. You are doing the best you can to cope and survive amid your struggles, and that’s all you can ask of yourself. It’s enough. You are enough.
This book answers the questions we often ask ourselves, a question I have asked myself to consider is, “What have you done in the last two weeks for your Mind, Body and Spirit, and was it worth the time you spent doing it?”
As I reflected on the question, I became so full!!! I literary could not contain the joy I felt, looking back just two weeks. Then two more weeks. . . the tears could not stop coming!!! This is what this book is about!!! Finding the joy within!!!
NEVER DISCOUNT WHERE YOU ARE!!! God knows why you are there . . . you must TRUST HIM!!! Walk by faith no matter what it feels like, no matter what it looks like, and more importantly no matter how long it seems like it has been.
So, I ask you “What have you done in the last two weeks for your Mind, Body and Spirit, and was it worth the time you spent doing it?” I pray that reading this book will allow you to spend your valuable time BE-ING and BE-COMING!!!
I DID NOT SEE THIS JOY COMING!!! OH MY GODTHANK YOU . . . . HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH!!!
Modeling Goodness NO MATTER WHAT!!!
How did you come up with idea for this book?
I began writing this book when I started the journey through my divorce. As I was experiencing what I went through in this event, I asked myself the question, “Would I marry me?“ Which was going to be the title initially. Then God began to reveal to me things He wanted me to write about.
What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?
It really was not difficult, it was as if the Holy Spirit was leading me through each chapter.
Why do you write?
I write because God tells me to. For real I have only written what I believe what God has given me to write. I have never sat down and said, “Well I think it is time to write another book” I am truly lead and I pray God continues to lead me in this way.
What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?
To embrace who you are, when the Bible says in John 8:32, “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” I truly believe Jesus was talking about knowing your own personal truth, not just speaking the truth to others, but embracing who we are in Christ Jesus. Which, we can find by living God’s Word. I would say, EMBRACE WHO GOD HAS CREATED YOU TO BE!!! Stop running from you because you are truly missing the real beauty of what’s inside you.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love reading Iyanla Vanzant, I feel so encouraged by her words.
What book(s) are you reading now?
Right now I am not reading any books, I have been in such a dark place for the last 4 years, and now that I am out in the light, I am basking in the beauty of who have grown to be at this moment. The focus is truly on me and the newness of my life.
What books have most influenced your life?
This may really sound a little arrogant and I don’t mean it to be. But I have been influenced by my own books. They speak life and that is what I am all about. Thriving not just surviving!!! Living above the issues. . .
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
I would love the opportunity to be mentored by Iyanla Vanzant, OMG that would be so amazing!!!
Any advice to give to aspiring writers?
Allow God to use you and write books to touch the heart not to sell books, if you do that then you will sell books.
ABOUT THE BOOK
As I contemplated what direction God has inspired me to go with this book, I want you, the reader to know it is my desire that we be empowered to build better relationships. But that must start with ourselves. It is time to pull the covers off and take a real look at who, what and where we are. Not just in the physical being but emotionally and spiritually as well. What does God say about us?
